Iguazu National Park and the Iguazu-waterfalls

In the border area where Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay meet, lies a huge national park, which on the Argentinian side of the border is known as Iguazu National Park. Here you can find one of the most impressive and beautiful natural wonders in the whole of South America, the fantastic Iguazu-waterfalls. On the Argentinian side of the waterfall lies the charming small town of Purto Iguazu, from vists to the waterfall usually start.

The Iguazu-waterfalls consist of 275 individual waterfalls in an area that is more than 3 kilometers wide, with the falls themselves stretching over the borders of Argentinal, Brazil and Paraguay. Each country offers its own, different, magical experience of the falls. In Argentina you can enjoy several amazing views of the roaring river waters as they tumble over the falls. For photographers, the Iguazu-falls and national park are an absolute paradise, and even though it is impossible to really do justice to this beautiful natural phenomenon, you can take home some really impressive pictures. On the Argentinian side it is also possible to get close to the falls, by taking one of the many boat rips on offer, you can sail right up to the powerful falls. It is also a wonderful experience to take in the falls from a distance, and hear the deep, roar of the falls resonating from several kilometers away. Perhaps the ultimate, most wild, experience here is to look vertically down into one of the falls biggest attractions, the “Garganta del Diablo ( the Devil’s Throat), where you can feel the raw power of nature right in front of your eyes.
