Portsmut Eco Safaris

Portsmut Eco Safaris is founded on a strong vision of sustainability and respect for the natural environment. The focus is on preserving the farm’s unique ecosystem and ensuring good conditions for both wildlife, nature, and the people who live and work here.

The entire farm operates exclusively on solar and wind energy and produces more power than it consumes in daily operations, underlining its strong environmental commitment.

Portsmut Eco Safaris is located in the spectacular Khomas Hochland west of Windhoek. This mountainous region offers dramatic rock formations, wide open spaces, and exceptional natural beauty, forming the setting for both hunting and nature experiences.

The area covers 20,000 hectares, of which 14,000 hectares are dedicated to wildlife management and responsible trophy hunting, while 6,000 hectares are more free-roaming natural areas.

The farm borders the Hakos Mountains and offers views of the iconic Gamsberg, known for its exceptionally clear night skies.

Personal service and stay
At Portsmut Eco Safaris, personal service and genuine hospitality are at the centre. Many staff members live on the farm and have in-depth knowledge of the area, creating an authentic experience for guests.

The team includes experienced and professionally trained Professional Hunters (PHs), who accompany guests throughout the hunting experience and provide extensive knowledge of wildlife and terrain.

Management and kitchen staff ensure a comfortable stay with flexible service, excellent food, and relaxed communal areas where guests can share the day’s experiences.
