Sangwali Safaris is based in Osonjiva, located in central Namibia near Otjiwarongo. The area offers classic African hunting across a large and diverse natural landscape. The hunting grounds are characterized by open savannah, denser bush, dry riverbeds and sections of hilly terrain, together creating excellent and varied conditions for exciting spot-and-stalk hunting.

The area supports a strong and diverse wildlife population, including many of Namibia’s most sought-after plains game species. Hunting opportunities include oryx, kudu, eland, hartebeest, blue and black wildebeest, springbok, impala, waterbuck, warthog and several smaller antelope species. Both Burchell’s zebra and Hartmann’s mountain zebra can also be found in the area.

For the experienced hunter, there are also opportunities to hunt dangerous game such as buffalo and leopard, as well as cheetah. These hunts are conducted under the guidance of experienced professional hunters and require thorough preparation, patience and precision. Hunting large predators and buffalo adds an extra dimension to the stay and offers a more demanding and intense African hunting experience.

Hunting mainly takes place as traditional spot-and-stalk hunting. Accompanied by a professional hunter and experienced trackers, guests search for game on foot, assess different trophies and attempt to get within a safe and responsible shooting distance. The open terrain often makes it possible to spot game from afar, while the denser bush can lead to intense hunting situations at relatively close range.

Osonjiva is suitable both for experienced African hunters and for guests embarking on their first plains game safari. Great emphasis is placed on personal guiding, attentive service and a relaxed atmosphere. Solo hunters, couples, families and smaller groups are all warmly welcomed.
