The Spanish driven hunt, Montería, is a truly unique and very intense experience. Large packs of driving dogs create constant movement among the game, resulting in many shooting opportunities and spectacular game parades.
The hunt takes place in some of the best hunting areas Spain can offer, approximately 1.5 hours’ drive from Madrid, near the city of Toledo.
The hunt focuses on Spanish red deer and is deeply rooted in centuries-old Spanish hunting traditions. At the same time, you will enjoy Spanish cuisine and outstanding local wines in authentic surroundings.
We guarantee an unparalleled experience for those who love driven hunting!
Departure is from Copenhagen Airport, flying to Madrid. Upon arrival, you will be met by representatives of the Spanish outfitter and transferred to the hotel located just south of Toledo (approx. 1.5 hours’ drive from Madrid). Accommodation is at a 4-star hotel.
Each hunting day, hunters are collected from the hotel and driven to the hunting lodge on the estate (approx. 30 minutes’ drive), where breakfast is served.
The Montería begins in the morning at approx. 09:30. Shooting positions are drawn by lot, and by approx. 10:30 all hunters are in position and the hunt begins.
Approximately 200–300 dogs are released, and local beaters start the drive. Hunting continues for around 4 hours, until approx. 15:00, followed by the collection of game.
All game shot is marked, and while the game is gathered for the parade, hunters meet again at the hunting lodge where a delicious lunch is served.
The game is laid out in a traditional parade, and before you know it, the day is over and anticipation for the next day’s Montería is already building.
After the hunting day, transport returns to the hotel, where the group can enjoy all hotel facilities.
A minimum of 20 hunters is required to cover the area, with a maximum of 30 hunters.
On the day of departure, a short sightseeing tour of Toledo—a stunningly beautiful historic city—can be arranged before returning to Madrid for the flight back to Copenhagen.
