Ole and his family on a combined roebuck hunt and family holiday in southern France!

Just returned from beautiful southern France, Ole and his family enjoyed 7 fantastic days – including 3 days of intense roebuck hunting and a full week in true French summer idyll.

Ole and his son Morten harvested 6 impressive bucks – 3 of which were strong medal-class trophies – and even the younger family members joined the hunt as observers, which was a big experience for all. The hunting took place in vast, scenic, and challenging terrain, led by skilled and passionate hunting guides.

After the hunt, the family relaxed at a charming accommodation with a pool, great food, and local delicacies.

Our journey to the Gers region in southwestern France was an extraordinary experience – both as a hunting trip and a summer holiday for the whole family.

We were hunting roebuck, and it turned out to be both exciting and demanding. The terrain in Gers is vast, varied, and incredibly beautiful – but also challenging. You don’t get the game handed to you – you have to work for it. That’s exactly what made the hunt so intense and meaningful. The guides were skilled, dedicated, and had deep local knowledge – especially Julian, our professional hunter, whom we already look forward to seeing again.

We stayed on a former farmhouse offering lots of privacy and authentic charm. It was the perfect place to unwind. The property had a lovely pool and a fantastic kitchen where we prepared French dishes using local ingredients – a culinary experience in itself. Local markets and shops nearby made it easy and enjoyable to explore regional foods.

Close by was Auch – a historic and cozy town, the capital of the Gers department. Auch is full of French charm with winding streets, grand staircases, and the stunning Sainte-Marie Cathedral. There was a great choice of restaurants and cafés, and we were warmly welcomed everywhere.

All in all, it was a perfect blend of hunting and family travel. We returned home with great memories, new friendships, and a strong desire to return – which we surely will. Diana Hunting Tours once again provided the setting for a trip that was both intense, relaxing, and truly successful.
