This district, which has undergone a major overhaul over recent years, is now the epitome of an ideal red deer habitat, with outstanding woodland of mixed mature beech and oak trees, as well as areas of dense conifers. During a hunt here, it is not unrealistic to expect to hear the roars of a number of territorial stags. As ever, on hunt is totally predictable, and it is always exciting to see which stags have taken control of the most popular rutting arenas. Typically you will hunt in the early morning and the evening, in the company of the estate’s experience gamekeeper. The hunt will often be a combination of staling and lying in wait in one of the strategically placed towers.
