Kirov lies circa 800 km north east of Moscow in the European part of Russia. The Kirov region, or as it is known in Russia, Kirov Oblast, is one of the 46 oblasts in the Russian Federation. The oblast is 120.374 km² in size and has 1,297,474 inhabitants. The administrative center is the city of Kirov, which is also the biggest city in the oblast, with 493,336 inhabitants.

Our very reputable partner here has access to more than 20 huge hunting districts. The terrain here is relatively flat, with some low hills, and is predominantly (70%) covered with forest. In places the forest is broken up by broad meadows wetlands and farmland. Conditions here are ideal for many game species and you can find good populations of moose, bear, wild boar as well as the large forest living birds: capercaillie and black grouse. Finally, it is also possible to find lynx and wolf here.

On arrival in Moscow airport you will meet your interpreter, who will also help you with completing customs formalities and weapons declarations. He will then take you from the airport to the train station, where you will continue your journey by night train. The legendary Trans-Siberian railway passes through Kirov, and even though this is a relatively short section of the route, it is exciting to experience this train journey.

On arrival in Kirov the next morning, you will be met by the hunt organizer at the train station, and transferred to the hunting district by car, a drive of around 3 hours. Accommodation is often in a private house in a small town. Accommodation is chosen in the town which gives the hunters the best strategic location for hunting.

Days 2 - 7, 5-7 days hunting/accommodation

The 7/9th day - it is possible to go hunting in the morning, after which you will prepare for your journey home. You will again take a night train between Kirov and Moscow. On arrival in Moscow you will again be met at the train station, and often there will be time to do some sightseeing in Moscow, before returning to the airport for your flight home.
