Spotted Mouse Deer

Scientific Name: Moschiola meminna

Distribution: India and Sri Lanka.

Habitat: Dense jungle, near rivers and streams.

Description: Very small animal related to the deer. It weighs up to 4,5 kg and measures up to 35 cm over the shoulder. The body length is 70 cm without tail (10 cm).

Hunting method: The locals use dogs and nets.
