South African springhare

Scientific Name: Pedetes capensis

Distribution: Southern Africa

Habitat: Open dry country, mostly on sandy soils.

Description: A large rodent, almost kangaroo-like in appearance. Colour can vary from reddish-brown to pale grey, tail has a black tip . Body length 36 -45cm plus a long tail of 36 - 47 cm in length.
