Duiker, Abbott's

Scientific Name: Cephalophus spadix

Subspecies: None.

Distribution: Northern part of Tanzania.

Habitat: Montane forests up to 12.000 feet.

Description: Middle sized antelope with a weight of 55 - 65 kg and a shoulder height of around 65 cm. General colour uniform dark chestnut brown apart from collar and face that are grizzled grey.

Hunting method: Normally lying in wait or pursch, but can also be attracted within shooting range by imitation of the distress calls of smaller animals.

Hunting available in: Northern part of Tanzania in difficult mountain terrain.
