Scientific Name: Bubalus depressicornis

Subspecies: None.

Distribution: Northern Celebes and on the eastern peninsula.

Habitat: Dense forest and bamboo thickets. Reedbeds and open grassland in the vicinity of water.

Description: Relatively small wild cattle weighing up to 300 kg and measuring up to 90 cm over the shoulder. It may reach a total body length of 1,80 m without tail (30 cm). General colour yellowish brown. The horns are short and bent backwards, almost straight.
