Zamrzenica

The Zamrzenica hunting district covers a total area of 17,274 hectares, of which 9,700 hectares are forest, while the remaining 7,574 hectares consist of agricultural land, meadows, lakes, and fantastic wetlands. The forest is primarily coniferous (about 80%), but there are also areas with oak, birch, and other deciduous tree species. The area is mostly flat, with some gently undulating terrain. Zamrzenica has 125 high seats, as well as 50 feeding places. Up to 4-5 hunters can hunt at a time on individual hunts, while the popular combined hunts are arranged for groups of 6-7 hunters.

The district has both roe deer, red deer, fallow deer, and wild boar. Each year, around 20 roe bucks are harvested. Trophy-wise, most of the bucks weigh under 300 grams net, but a number of bucks weighing over 300-400 grams are also harvested. The annual red deer quota is around 28 stags, most of which are rutting stags with a trophy weight of 5-7 kg. However, there are also good opportunities for stags weighing 7-8 kg. The fallow deer population is somewhat challenged by wolves, but there is still a good fallow deer hunt available, with shot fallow stags weighing between 2.50-3.20 kg. Wild boars are also present at Zamrzenica, and these are hunted both on individual hunts throughout the season and during the annual combined hunts, which usually show a mixed parade with all game species.

The combined hunt typically works as follows: driven hunts are arranged in the morning, and after a lunch break, the hunt continues as individual hunting with a personal hunting guide. If the weather permits, wild boar may be hunted in the evening – note that it is legal to use night vision for wild boar hunting. The parade will typically consist of a mix of red deer, wild boar, roe deer, foxes, and possibly fallow deer, and the district expects shots to be taken at the game that presents itself to achieve a satisfactory result (though not necessarily stags).

Accommodation is provided in the district in an old brick house located directly by a large 30 km long lake. Hunters are accommodated on the first floor, which, in addition to the dining room, has 5 double rooms and 1 single room, all with their own newly renovated bathroom/toilet. A refrigerator is available for our hunters. The hunting manager, Tomasz, is a highly skilled hunter and speaks good English. Wi-Fi and mobile coverage are available.

Zamrzenica is located 275 km from the Kolbaskowo border crossing south of Szczecin (just under 4 hours), 60 km from Bydgoszcz, the nearest larger city, and about 160 km from Gdansk, the nearest international airport.
