The state hunting district Lutowko spans an impressive area of 18,000 hectares, of which 9,000 hectares are forest, while the remaining 9,000 hectares are primarily agricultural land, but also include meadows, lakes, and wetlands. The forest consists mainly of coniferous trees (about 60%), but also features beautiful oaks, birch, and other deciduous trees. The area is mostly flat. Lutowko has more than 35 high seats, as well as 22 feeding places. Up to 5 hunters can hunt at a time on individual hunts, but 4 hunters is the most optimal number. Driven hunts are arranged for groups of at least 14 hunters.
Lutowko has strong populations of both roe deer, red deer, fallow deer, and wild boar. The annual red deer quota is around 50 stags – most with trophy weights of 5-7 kg, but also a number of stags over 7 kg – and some even exceed 8-9 kg. The fallow deer population is challenged by wolves, but still, around 22 fallow bucks are harvested annually with good trophies up to 3 kg, and occasionally slightly more. The harvested roe deer bucks have good trophy quality, with most ranging from 250-400 grams. Approximately 30 roe deer bucks are harvested each year. Wild boar are also found on Lutowko, and these are hunted both on individual hunts throughout the season and on the 4 annual driven hunts, which normally yield good results with a mix of all game species – however, groups should be aware of restrictions on fallow deer.
Accommodation takes place in a newly built hunting lodge in the middle of the reserve. The guest area includes 2 single rooms, 4 double rooms, and 3 triple rooms, all with their own toilets and bathrooms. The hunting manager, Sebastian, speaks good English and will be available to ensure a smooth hunting experience. There is access to a locked garage and cold storage. Wi-Fi and mobile coverage are available.
Lutowko is located 220 km from the border crossing at Kolbaskowo south of Szczecin, 70 km from Bydgoszcz and 50 km from Piła, the nearest larger cities, 145 km from Poznań airport, which is the nearest international airport, and 180 km from Gdańsk.
