For our puma hunts we work in partnership with Covert Outfitting, owned by Kiff Covert. Our outfitter has specialised in puma hunts in British Columbia and has enjoyed great success during the 15 years or more he has arranged exciting puma hunts using dogs.
Covert Outfitting have their own hunting district in the mountains near Kelowna, where our partner also lives. Here hunters can enjoy comfortable accommodation and direct access to the hunting district.
Covert Outfitters offer hunting for all three species of cat that can be found in British Columbia (Puma, Bobcat and lynx).
A combination of snow scooters and 4x4-vehicles are used to find animal tracks. Once fresh tracks have been located, the experienced hunting dogs are released, and the hunt begins in earnest. Puma hunts can be physically demanding, so hunters should be well prepared before their arrival. After the dogs have been released the hunt takes place on foot. The hunt takes place in winter conditions, so bring warm clothes. All our predator hunts during the winter are planned for optimal weather and snow conditions, which are at their best during December and January.
You can fly to Kelowna via Vancouver or Calgary. On arrival in Kelowna you will be met by the outfitter on the airport, and afterwards taken to your hotel. During the winter months it is normal to sleep at the hotel during the whole week you spend hunting. The winters can be very cold in British Columbia and the hunting cabins in the area are not equipped to provide warm and comfortable...Read more
