Springbuck/Springbok, White

Scientific Name: Antidorcas marsupialis

Subspecies: The white springbok is one of the colour phases of springbok, that have been bred on some South African game farms from naturally occurring animals. It originally arose in Eastern Cape Province.

Distribution: South Africa

Habitat: Dry grasslands, bushlands and scrublands of southern Africa.

Description: A slender antelope species, up to 84cm high at the shoulder and weighing  between 27 - 42 kg. The white springbok in not an albino, but a true colour phase of this species. They are predominantly, as there name suggests predominantly white, with a light tan stripe on its flanks.
