Chinese Desert Cat

Scientific Name: Felis bieti

Subspecies: 3 subspecies have been descriped: 1. Felis b. bieti: China. 2. Felis b. chutuchta: Mongolia and the Gobi-desert. 3. Felis b. vellerosa: Xizang (Tibet).

Habitat: Semi-desert and desert, steppe and rocky mountains covered with shrubs and forest.

Description: Medium sized cat weighing around 5,5 kg. It reaches a total body length of 85 cm, without tail (35 cm). Very little is known about this cat.

Hunting method: With dogs and traps.
