Four-horned Antelope

Scientific Name: Tetraceros quadricornis

Subspecies: None.

Distribution: The Indian Subcontinent excluding Bangladesh, Assam and Sri Lanka.

Habitat: Hill forest in the vicinity of water.

Description: Small antelope weighing up to 20 kg and measuring up to 65 cm over the shoulder. It may reach a total body length of 1,26 m without tail (15 cm). General colour greyish brown with paler underside. It is distinctive in having 4 horns, hence the name.

Hunting method: Stalking, from machan, with dogs and beaters.
