Afghan Fox

Scientific Name: (Vulpes cana)

Subspecies: None.

Distribution: Eastern Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkmenistan.

Habitat: Similar to Red Fox, but less adaptable. It is likely that the stronger Red Fox sometimes out competes the Afghan Fox as they live in the same areas.

Description: The smallest of the foxes weighing only 4 kg and measuring around 30 cm over the shoulder, reaching a total body length of 50 cm., without tail (40 cm).

Hunting method: With dogs, snares, falconry.
