High success rate! Hungary is famous for its huge red stags, and this is the district for the hunter who wants to target a real heavyweight in the 8 - 12kg class!
4 days from €900
On this privately owned, 12,000 ha. hunting district just south west of Lake Balaton, around 40 big stags are taken annually. A number of these weigh-in at the 10 - 12kg class - veritable giants! The hunting is best during the rutting season in September, and is a combination of stalking and lying in wait. The success rate is very high - more than 90% of our hunters return home with the trophy size they wished for!
By their very nature these bug Hungarian trophies are very much sought after amongst European hunters, and we can not claim that the hunting is cheap. But on the other hand Hungary operates an outstanding system that ensures that the hunter only has to pay for trophies that come within +/- 15% of the size agreed in advance.
Quite simply it is the hunting guides responsibility to estimate the trophy size within these margins. If he makes a mistake the hunter has the right to leave the trophy with the hunting district without paying - which is a great way of helping hunters keep within their budget.
If you agree, for example, to shoot a 8kg stag, you can decline to take the trophy is it lies outside the range of 6.8 to 9.2kg.
Every year we arrange a very popular group tour for 4 hunters + an experienced tour leader during the height of the rut, around the 10 -15th September, to this district.
