Barlinek

The Barlinek state hunting district in north west Poland covers a total area of 6,166 ha. of which 5,426 ha. is forest, while the remaining 740 ha. is farmland and meadow. The forest is made up of 67% coniferous tree, 14% beech, 10% oak, 3% birch, while the remainder is mixed broadleaf. The district is generally flat. Barlinek has 71 high seats/stands and 14 feeding places. It is possible to hunt from a horse drawn wagon, provided you book this in advance. The district can take up to 6 hunters at a time, but 3 -5 hunters is the optimum number. Driven hunts can be arranged for groups of 10 - 12 hunters.

This district can offer hunting for roe deer, red deer and wild boar. Every year 40 roe bucks are taken here. Most of these yield a trophy weight of under 250g net, but a few bucks of over 300g are also taken. The district has an annual quota of around 18 red stags - the majority of which have a trophy weight of around 6kg, but naturally smaller stags are sometimes taken. However this district offers the possibility of bagging a really good stag, with an antler weight approaching 8 kg. Additionally there is a good population of wild boar at Barlinek, and these can be hunted on individual hunts throughout the season and on the 5 driven hunts that are organised in the autumn and winter.

Barlinek is 95 km from the Schwedt border crossing south of Szczecin, 110 km from Szczecin which is the closest major town, 140 km from Szczecin/Golenoiw airport and 160 km from Berlin airport.
